A burnt mound was exposed during the cutting of the pipe trench of the North-West Gas Pipeline in Field 4F16 near Ballynure, Co. Antrim. The location of this site was recorded and no excavation was carried out, since no further disturbance of the site would take place. The area was highlighted as an archaeologically sensitive area and care was taken during the reinstatement phase to prevent any further disturbance of the archaeology.
