The site had been badly mauled prior to archaeologists being contracted. It was restripped and an area of burning and stones was uncovered close to a stream which transected the site. The area of potential archaeology measured some 3m by 3m. This may have been the remnants of a burnt mound. Massive contamination and disturbance from the surrounding building works prevented access and excavation on health and safety grounds. No suitable uncontaminated material was recovered.
