Monitoring was undertaken immediately to the south of the motte on Donegore Hill. No archaeological features or deposits were recorded during the monitoring. The natural reddish-brown gravelly clay sloped from north to south and was overlain by topsoil. The topsoil was up to 0.3m thick and contained finds of 18th- and 19th-century brown glaze pottery sherds.
