Monitoring was carried out in August 2004, commissioned by Antrim Borough Council, to supervise the removal of topsoil and overburden in preparation for the development of a new sports hall extension to the leisure centre at the Antrim Forum (Phase 3 upgrading). The Forum is located on the western outskirts of Antrim town just south of the Six Mile Water. During the removal of topsoil and made ground material, the remains of a linear feature, which produced 19th/20th-century finds, were located in the north-west corner of the site. This feature has been interpreted as an old field boundary. No further aboveground or subsurface archaeological deposits were uncovered within the development area.
