Monitoring was carried out at a development site at Rathdown Upper/Templecarrig Lower, Co. Wicklow. An assessment of the development had been carried out by Edmund O'Donovan in 2001 (Excavations 2001, No. 1379). This report recommended excavation of a small area of the proposed development. Monitoring of topsoil-stripping was also carried out at the site in 2002. This work was carried out by Ines Hagan and Teresa Bolger (Excavations 2002, No. 1984).
A series of archaeological features of possible prehistoric date was identified during the removal of topsoil for house Nos 10 and 11. An excavation was carried out by Christine Baker in order to fully investigate these features (see No. 2095, Excavations 2003). No other archaeological features were noted during this phase of topsoil removal.
