At the request of Wicklow County Council, testing was carried out at Priestnewtown, Delgany, at sites identified during geophysical investigation of the routeway for the proposed Greystones Southern Link Road. Specific anomalies were identified and a strategy of testing was drawn up.
Two features were discovered in Trench 1. F103 was a ditch running north-west/south-east. It was 1.1m wide and survived to a depth of 0.01m. A sherd of manganese mottled ware (1670–1780) was recovered from the fill. A second feature would appear to be the remains of a furrow. It was 0.56m wide and 0.14–0.16m deep.
