Monitoring took place at the Brook Lodge Hotel, Macreddin Village, Aughrim, Co. Wicklow. The proposed development is bound by a meandering stream to the south, by the Aughrim Road to the west and by an enclosed graveyard to the north-west (SMR 34:9). The proposed development site is located within the southern precinct of the historic town of Carysford (SMR 34:10) and is partially within its zone of archaeological potential. Nothing of archaeological significance was identified.
