Monitoring on the site of a small housing development was carried out on 4 April 2003. The site was located c. 500m east of Kilcoole village. A monitoring of an adjacent site by E. Eoin Sullivan had resulted in the discovery of medieval pottery and a pit (Excavations 2002, No. 1968).
This site measured 28m north-south by 21m. The removal of topsoil and the excavation of the foundation trenches and all ancillary service trenches were monitored. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered.
