Monitoring of construction-related groundworks was undertaken during September 2003. The site is located immediately to the south of the site of a medieval church and graveyard. Monitoring uncovered a field system of ridge-and-furrow cultivation, which dates to the 17th/18th centuries on the basis of the North Devon ware recovered from the fill of the features. Abraded Leinster ware was also recovered from the furrows and one contained a portion of line-incised tile with fleur-de-lis pattern. Several large pits were also uncovered.
