An assessment took place on 12 March 2003 on the site of a proposed residential development in Clonyn, Delvin, Co. Westmeath. The proposed development related to the construction of four residential dwellings with associated services and was located close to the site of a castle (SMR 14:2) and a church and graveyard (SMR 14:3). Four test-trenches were excavated, orientated north-west/south-east. Most of the area had been built up with stone and gravel, to a depth of c. 0.3m, to form a yard. This was revealed within the stratigraphy of the test-trenches. No finds or features of archaeological significance were discovered.
