The site at Killoteran 1, discovered during initial centre-line trenching of the proposed motorway, was recorded as a patch of oxidised clay and nearby pit. There was no surface indication of any archaeological remains in the immediate area and the surrounding land had been under pasture. An area measuring 10m by 10m was mechanically excavated around the features to determine their nature. Investigations revealed the features to be of no archaeological significance.
