As part of the pre-development testing of the Waterford Outer Ring Road, a series of trenches was excavated within the proposed land-take of the route. Area 2 was highlighted in the environmental impact statement as an area of higher potential; a curvilinear field boundary was located here. No evidence was identified to suggest this field boundary was of any archaeological significance.
