The resolution of Site 39 was carried out before the construction of the N8 Cashel Bypass and N74 Link Road. The site comprised a flat elongated area on the northern slopes of Windmill Hill. The excavation was carried out in June–July 2003 over a period of six weeks. It yielded evidence of stone-lined pits containing possible Bronze Age pottery, as well as a smithing hearth. An east-facing adult male skeleton was recovered nearby in a shallow grave, and the remains of medieval field boundaries enclosed what appears to be a rectangular-shaped house.
