Testing at the Rian Bó Phádraig was carried out August 2003. The site comprises a modern road that is thought to lie over the ancient ecclesiastical route between Cashel and Ardmore. The name translates as 'Track of St Patrick's Cow'. Recent studies cast some doubt on the actual route of the Rian at this location and the Rev. P. Power, who classified the route, has admitted to never having visited this part of the routeway.
No direct dating evidence was identified during testing. It appeared that the present roadway is of relatively recent construction, but this does not preclude the possibility of a more ancient road being destroyed by its construction.
