Site 4 was excavated in advance of construction of the N8 Cashel Bypass and N74 Link Road South. It comprised an area of 1376m2 situated on either side of what was an earlier boundary separating the townlands of Monadreela and Ballyknock. No archaeological features were recovered during testing by Anne Marie Lennon (Excavations 2002, No. 1744, 02E0374).
Few features were found. The most notable included large field drains and field boundaries. The topsoil was removed down to the upper surface of subsoil by a machine with a flat bucket, and excavation took place from 28 April to 2 May 2003. The site lies immediately to the north of a natural spring, at the base of a slope of relatively high ground. The townland boundary had earlier been removed by machine following an extensive survey.
