Monitoring works were undertaken at Clonmel Swimming Pool. The existing pool was enlarged and a small training pool built. Clonmel Swimming Pool is located to the north-east of the town centre and outside the zone of archaeological potential for Clonmel. However, works were monitored, as the site is within the grounds of the County Jail, built in the late 18th century.
Walls were found in the course of monitoring that appear to be associated with the remains of the County Jail. They were c. 0.7m wide, of good construction and built of sandstone and red brick. The stones were horizontally laid and bonded with a strong, sharp mortar.
