Monitoring was undertaken in tandem with the development of a two-storey house on 6 and 7 September 2003. The scheme was situated within the medieval rural zone of Cashel and encompassed an area of c. 140m2.
All ground excavation achieved depths no greater than 1m. The stratigraphic profile consisted of modern materials and soil largely intruded upon by modern development (service pipes) or natural subsoil conditions. Nothing of an archaeological nature was encountered in the course of the works.
