The proposed development, to consist of the construction of a new office building between two existing buildings, is located on Markievicz Road, Sligo. It is within the zone of archaeological potential for the medieval town of Sligo. Testing took place on 26 May 2003. Three trenches were excavated by machine to the level of undisturbed natural bedrock. The east-west-oriented trench measured 16m long and the two north-south-oriented trenches measured 6m long. All were 1m wide and excavated to a depth of 1.1–1.3m. No evidence of archaeological activity was revealed during the course of the excavation.
