The proposed development, to consist of a house, garage, access and septic tank/percolation area, is located in the Bricklieve Mountains between Keash and Castlebaldwin at Kilmorgan, Ballymote. It is located within an archaeological complex, comprising both ecclesiastical remains and field systems. An assessment of the proposed development, including testing, was carried out on 17 October 2003. Five trenches, 1m wide and 10m long, were excavated by machine to a depth of 0.3-0.45m. There was no evidence of any archaeological activity on the site.
