The proposed development, to consist of the construction of a house, access and septic tank/percolation area, is located at Fortland, outside of Easky, Co. Sligo. It is near a megalithic tomb (site of). There was no evidence of visible archaeological features within the area of the proposed development. All groundworks associated with the proposed development were monitored on 13 April 2003. Sod and topsoil, 0.25–0.35m deep, were removed, revealing undisturbed natural. No evidence of archaeological activity was revealed during the course of the excavation.
