Testing was carried out on 7 May 2003 at the site of an extension to a dwelling-house adjacent to Aghanagh Church, an Early Christian church traditionally held to be one of the first erected in Co. Sligo. Four trial-trenches were excavated and, apart from two rough-cuts for rotary querns in the topsoil, no features of archaeological interest were discovered.
