The proposed development, to consist of a house, garden shed and septic tank/percolation area, is located just outside the town of Boyle, Co. Roscommon. It will involve the demolition of an existing house and outbuildings. The site is within the zone of archaeological potential for a field system. Testing was carried out on 20 February 2003. Three trenches, measuring 10m by 1m, were excavated across the site. All were excavated to a depth of 0.6–1.05m. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered in any of the trenches.
