Testing was undertaken at a proposed house site in the townland of Lysterfield, Curraghboy. According to the files of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland, the field in which the development is proposed is known locally as a children's burial ground. A small knoll on the western side of the property is believed to be the site of such a burial ground. The knoll was originally more pronounced but c. 1m was removed from the top during reclamation works.
Five trenches were excavated by both machine and hand in the area of the proposed development. No features or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered.
