The proposed development at Kilmurray, to consist of a house, access, septic tank and percolation area on a half-acre site, is located on the Castleplunkett/Kilmurray road, outside Castlerea. The site is near a ringfort. Testing was carried out on 28 June 2003. Four trenches, measuring 10m by 1m, were excavated across the site. All were excavated to a depth of 0.3-0.45m. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered during the course of the excavation.
