Pre-development testing was undertaken in the immediate vicinity of two monuments in advance of a planning application for a quarry development at Carrowkeeny and Gortnasythe, Co. Roscommon. Testing was concentrated in the area north of the ringfort and surrounding the enclosure. It did not reveal any archaeological deposits or features in any of the thirteen trenches excavated.
