An assessment was carried out in advance of a private residential development. The site is close to SMR 42:12, a possible enclosure that appears on early OS maps but for which there are no extant remains above ground. The development is separated from the enclosure site by a small laneway. Three trenches were excavated through the site. Topsoil was removed onto natural subsoil. No features were noted in the trenches and no finds recovered from the excavated topsoil deposits.
