Testing was undertaken at a proposed house site in the townland of Clonburren. A minor road to the north of the site is believed to be constructed on the route of a togher. Legend has it that St Kieran set up a commemorative cross – the Cross of Carbre Crom – in the middle of a togher which led from Clonburren to dry land at Faltia.
Four trenches were excavated by machine and hand within the area. No features or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered.
