The proposed development, to consist of a mobile telephone mast, compound and access road, is located outside Tulsk, Co. Roscommon, just off the Ballintober Road. The site is near a linear earthwork. Testing was carried out on 19 January 2003. Four trenches were excavated across the site. Trench 1 measured 10m by 1m and was situated across the proposed mast and compound location. Trenches 2-4 measured 20m by 1m and were situated along the proposed access road. All four were excavated to a depth of 0.4-0.6m. No archaeological features or finds were uncovered during the course of the excavation.
