Pre-development testing was undertaken in advance of a proposed sewerage scheme in Castlerea, Co. Roscommon. Three trenches were excavated in the vicinity of a church and graveyard and fording point to the south of the town, while one trench was excavated adjacent to a church and graveyard in the town. All were excavated along the existing roadway. Testing revealed no features or artefacts of archaeological significance.
