Testing was carried out at the site of a proposed dwelling-house adjacent to the 17th-century Kilmore Castle, on the shores of Lough Ree, on 14 April 2003. Four trial-trenches were excavated and, apart from post-medieval pottery sherds in topsoil, no features of archaeological interest were discovered.
