Monitoring of groundworks and the demolition of poorly preserved outbuildings/stables for an extension to a house was carried out in July 2003. The proposed development site was located within the archaeological constraint zone for a large ecclesiastical complex in Clonmacnoise. The masonry from the demolition was examined. Thirteen pieces, including architectural fragments and inscribed stone, were recovered from the walls of the outbuildings. No archaeological finds or features were uncovered during the excavation of foundation trenches.
