Testing was undertaken at a site at North Road, Monaghan. The area of development is located within the zone of archaeological potential for Monaghan.
Testing consisted of the excavation of four trenches within the boundaries of the development area. The surface of a layer of peat, up to 1.7m in thickness, was uncovered at a depth of up to 1m below the existing ground surface. No features or finds of archaeological interest were uncovered.
