The area of proposed development on the route of the R154 Trim to Dublin road, Scurlockstown, was monitored during topsoil removal. Archaeological material was evident in one small area. All features uncovered were found to be subsoil cut and all were manually excavated. The site consisted of a linear ditch, probably a field boundary, running north-south, which was subsequently cut by a later linear feature running east-west, the remains of a field drain. The field drain produced blackware and modern glass, so it can be assumed that these features date to the 19th or 20th centuries and represent agricultural activity in the area.
