An assessment was carried out at 1-2 Market Square, Navan, in advance of a commercial development. The site lies within the medieval walled town of Navan. The buildings that stood on the site prior to the assessment dated to the 19th century and as they were of little architectural value they were demolished. Two test-trenches were excavated on 13 May 2003. No features of archaeological significance were exposed and no finds were recovered.
