The underwater visual assessment and metal-detector survey of the riverbed sediments of the River Boyne, Navan, Co. Meath, in advance of the bridge construction development of the R161-R153, did not reveal any archaeological features or artefacts. Numerous metal-detector hits were recorded, with all identified hits being modern debris. The riverbed was composed of bedrock on the upstream (south-east) and sand and river gravels downstream (north-west).
