The supposed line of the town wall forms the northern boundary of the street-front end of the site and is supposed to cut across the north-west corner of the rear end of the site. Four trenches were mechanically excavated on 1 April 2003. Nothing of archaeological significance was uncovered. It is clear, therefore, that the supposed line of the town wall at the rear of the site is incorrect.
