A small extension to the rear of a house on Canon Street required a pre-development assessment. However, work inadvertently proceeded before the assessment could be undertaken. Work was halted and an assessment of the available area was made. Trenches dug for drainage showed the presence of two phases of an earlier building on the site. No dating evidence was uncovered, but cartographic evidence suggests that the building was of either 17th- or 18th-century date. No great damage was done by the building works.
