Monitoring was undertaken at the site of a proposed shop and apartment complex at Connaught Street, Athboy, Co. Meath, on 13 March 2003. The proposed development was located within the area of archaeological potential for Athboy. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted during the groundworks. The general stratigraphy consisted of deposits of building rubble and disturbed material over natural sands and gravels.
