Testing was carried out at Cogaula, Co. Mayo, on 22 October 2003. The proposed development involved the construction of a dwelling-house. The site is located within the archaeological constraint zone of a church and associated earthworks. Four trenches were excavated. Testing exposed a natural stratigraphy of sod and topsoil overlying natural bedrock. No finds or features of archaeological significance were identified.
