Nine test-trenches were cut in a field 40m to the north of a children's burial ground at Cloonaghleragh, Ross. A house with associated groundworks was to be constructed here. The ground and subsoil was generally damp and sterile, producing no features of archaeological interest. The boulder clay consisted of a yellow or orange daub or gravel.
