Topsoil-stripping on the Dundalk Western Bypass uncovered a number of associated charcoal-rich features (Carn More 4, Site 126). An area 40m by 40m was stripped, exposing a number of irregular, loosely associated pits and features containing charcoal-rich material with minute fragments of charred hazelnuts. The site may be prehistoric in nature. Specialist reports are awaited.
