Topsoil-stripping on the Dundalk Western Bypass uncovered a feature initially identified as a possible fulacht fiadh (Carn More 3, Site 125). Excavation of this area over a period of two days proved this site to be an area of burning consistent with modern field clearance, with an associated modern refuse pit/stone dump. Nothing of archaeological significance was encountered.
