A circular pit measuring 0.92m in diameter with a dark-brown charcoal-enriched fill was uncovered during topsoil-stripping associated with the Termonfeckin/Baltray Sewerage Scheme in February 2003. It was discovered c. 45m from a possible settlement site (No. 1251, Excavations 2003, 03E0273) and may be associated with it. A sherd of undiagnostic prehistoric pottery and a quantity of burnt bone (possibly human) were recovered from it.
