Monitoring was carried out at a stone quarry adjacent to the south of the existing quarry site at Gallstown, Dunleer, Co. Louth. The work has been part of ongoing quarrying operations at the site since 1997. The extension area comprised relatively flat ground covered with furze and grassy sod. Topsoil was between 0.1 and 0.15m thick, while natural was composed of mid-orange/brown sandy boulder clay. No archaeological finds or features were observed.
