Testing was undertaken on the site of a proposed extension to the rear of O'Shea's public house, situated at Nos 49-51 West Street, Drogheda, but specifically concerning the extension to No. 50. The site is located within the zone of archaeological potential for Drogheda and is adjacent to the site of the former abbey.
Two trenches were excavated, one at the northern end of the site, the other at the southern. A section of wall foundation of indeterminate date was noted in Trench 1, but this had been removed by the sewer works evident in Trench 2. Nothing else of archaeological significance was noted.
