An assessment was undertaken at a site in Drogheda Street, Collon. The site was a garden area to the rear of a house and was much higher than street level. Three trenches were mechanically excavated. All contained a black garden soil that varied in depth from 0.2 to 0.8m above the natural sand or gravel. Ground level sloped dramatically to the south and at its lowest level the natural sand was exposed at 0.2m below the sod. No archaeological material was uncovered.
