This potential site (two possible post-holes) had been identified during the linear testing of the proposed Dundalk Western Bypass at Chainage 24815 (Balriggan 8/Site 123). An area measuring 15m by 20m centred on the potential features was stripped and revealed two pits cut into natural geology. One was filled with redeposited material. The other was the remains of a hearth, possibly a cooking fire. No other archaeological features were identified.
