This potential site (a stone spread) had been identified during the linear testing of the proposed Dundalk Western Bypass at Chainage 23080 (Balriggan 7/Site122). An area measuring 13m by 15m was stripped over the spread. Nothing of archaeological interest was recorded. A regular-sided shallow cut was recorded at the site. This produced modern finds, including glass, chinaware and brick. Anecdotal evidence from the landowner suggested that the previous owner excavated a number of pits in the field to bury field boundary material. This was probably one. No further work was carried out at Balriggan 7.
