The development was located in the vicinity of the zone of potential for the medieval town walls of Limerick. The entire site was excavated to a depth of between 2.5 and 3m, down to bedrock. The area was sealed by a layer of tarmac c. 0.2m deep. Beneath this, there was a layer of stone and rubble c. 0.5m deep. This lay above a greyish-brown silty material, 2m deep. Nothing of an archaeological nature was noted during the works.
