Monitoring of topsoil removal was undertaken before construction of a house c. 4km south-west of Newcastle West. The zone of archaeological potential around an enclosure, SMR 36:109, bordered the site to the west.
Topsoil was removed by machine in the area of the driveway, the house platform and the septic tank. No archaeological features were observed.
